The Seminar on Japanese Construction Technology in Thailand 2015 was held at the Embassy of Japan in
Thailand (multipurpose hall) for three days from September 15 through 17.
The seminar was held for the purpose of introducing Japan’s advanced construction technology to
construction-related organizations in Thailand (administrative agencies, constructors and consultants)
and to support its utilization overseas.
Three hundred and twenty persons from a wide range of fields related to the construction industry in
Thailand participated in the seminar.
Congratulatory addresses were delivered by Ambassador Shiro Sadoshima of Embassy of Japan in
Thailand, the Chairman of the Thai Contractors Association, and the Chairman of the Consulting
Engineers Association of Thailand. Keynote speeches were given by the Director of Thailand’s Royal
Irrigation Department (RID), the General Manager of Bangkok’s Sewage Drainage Department, the Chairman
of the Construction Institute of Thailand (CIT), and the Vice President of TEAM Company (the largest
construction consultant in Thailand).
The seminar was a significant opportunity for the Japanese side to introduce advanced construction
technologies. High interest was expressed by the Thai side. Constructive questions were raised by the
participants from Thailand, and a lively exchange of opinions took place.
